WATERFALL HIDDEN AMONG MYSTERIOUS RUINS

Before World War II, near this natural tourist attraction of Roztocze, there was a mill. The water from the nearby stream was utilized for the mill's needs. At that time, it was intended to cascade down step by step. To better utilize the water, a decision was made to undercut the terrain, thus creating a waterfall. However, a heavy cloudburst occurred. A river formed from the rainwater, which flowed down the valley towards Brusno. The torrential current swept away the mill buildings, scattering fragments and equipment throughout the area. The mill was never rebuilt, leaving only the waterfall.

While wild nature has already taken over the remains of the mill, fragments of picturesque ruins can still be found today. However, the main goal of excursions for all those looking for interesting places in Roztocze remains the waterfall. Standing about 2.5 meters high, it attracts all lovers of picturesque landscapes and is a popular spot for photographers.

WHERE TO FIND THE WATERFALL

Currently, no designated path leads directly to this tourist attraction of Roztocze. The easiest way to reach the waterfall is by starting on the blue hiking trail. It leads from Horyniec-Zdrój, through Nowiny Horynieckie and Wola Wielka to Huta Lubycka and further into the Lublin Voivodeship. From the direction of Polanka Horyniecka, after passing the last buildings, one must walk about one and a half kilometers further. After this distance, look for makeshift signs pointing to the waterfall. Then, it's necessary to leave the trail and follow the meadow as the signs indicate. When visiting this attraction in Roztocze, remember that it is hidden in the forest, and the trail on the last stretch does not lead along a paved road.

BIKE ROUTES IN ROZTOCZE

Traveling along the Green Velo cycling trail, you will surely pass many interesting places in Roztocze. However, some are not located on the main route. To find them, one must deviate a bit from the trail. This is exactly the case with the waterfall in Nowiny Horynieckie. Although the route passes close to this attraction of Roztocze, you need to know where to stop and search for the water cascade.
