What is Podkarpackie famous for? The region, particularly its southern part and the Bieszczady Mountains, are a perfect place for exploring the night-time sky. Because of the high quality night sky darkness, about 7,000 stars are visible to the naked eye!

Podkarpackie is home to a large number of protected plant and animal species. The Bieszczady Mountains are the favourite habitat for the brown bear as well as the wildcat and the lynx.
